Detailed Description
|
The doctrine of the Trinity is a core Christian belief that has had profound implications for Christian theology and practice throughout church history. Some theologians have recently developed a new view of the Trinity in which God the Son is eternally subordinate to God the Father. They use this view to support their claim that women are permanently subordinated to men. Kevin Giles explores the development of this subordinationist view in contrast with the historical understanding of the Trinity, and shows how it undermines the equality of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as well as the equality of men and women.
