Detailed Description

This panel of experienced ministry leaders explores the following questions:

  • We often hear people talk about justice issues without connecting these to their biblical foundations. For example, some people support the ordination of women, not so much for biblical reasons as for justice reasons, even though there is an abundance of biblical material that supports women in leadership. How do you articulate the biblical basis for the work you do?
  • Have you ever dealt with criticism for your work because you are not specifically a mission organization, and if so how did you deal with that criticism?
  • How do you connect your faith to your work, and how do you share the gospel through your ministry?
  • There are many young people looking for ministries that advance justice in the name of Jesus. What would you say to them as they prepare themselves spiritually or personally for this service, and as they search for places where they can make a difference in the world?
  • Why does the church more easily accept women in leadership working in areas of justice, perhaps overseas in mission work, rather than within our own internal structures?
  • What advice do you give to a woman called to ministry in a denomination that does not ordain women?
  • What is the single most significant issue regarding justice that our world faces in the next 5-10 years? Besides prayer, what can we do now as Christian people?
  • With regard to sustaining the hospitals and orphanages that you start, what is the source of challenges that you face in keeping these places open, and how do you handle that?
  • Share about a time in your work with justice that you were so horrified that you almost lost your faith or questioned your faith, and what you did about it.
