One Hundred Bible Studies on Woman's Place in the Church and Home by Katharine C. Bushnell Equality Depot Exclusive

Detailed Description
|
From Genesis to Revelation, Katharine C. Bushnell provides a thorough explanation of every Bible passage that touches on women. As a scholar of Hebrew and Greek, she studies the passages in their original languages and in their historical context, discovering insights sometimes obscured by Bible translators. The book emerged from Bushnell's lifetime working for social reform on behalf of women, in which she observed correlations between the status of women and misunderstandings of Scripture. Scholars have leaned on her groundbreaking work since its first publication in 1921, deeming it one of the best whole-Bible approaches to the question of women's place in the church and home.

KATHARINE C. BUSHNELL (1856-1946) was a brilliant scholar and passionate advocate for the oppressed. Her career included serving as a medical doctor in the United States and China, working for social reform with Francis Willard and the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, and founding a mission for homeless women in Chicago. Also a scholar, she studied the Bible in its original languages in order to determine the biblical status of women. |
